We stopped off here in here car after day in Paphos and Coral Bay….after last visiting 12 years ago when we got married in Paphos! We remembered it just the same too. Very charming and quaint place with Menalaus (not sure spelled correctly!) being very kind towards us and our 10 year old daughter….and very animated about the wine! Loved the little museum and venturing down into the cellar…all the wines great…we bought 4 bottles, 2 of the sweet rose. Lovely free snacks too. Well worth visiting. We’ll be back…..and may end up living nearby in the not too distant future!
Were in August, 2014 at Sterna plant. Tasted wine at plant – fine sweet Kommandariya red wine. Bought a bottle, houses opened. That in a bottle is most of all similar to sweet wine vinegar. I am very afflicted.
Had a lovely time enjoying the great hospitality shown by the owner. Tried around eight different samples and ended up buying five including the port. Would highly recommend for a visit if you’re in the area.
We visited this winery at the end of October 2013. It was a great place with a very interesting and informative museum, with old tools used in the vineyards. We had a wine tasting session and brought home about 4 bottles of wine which were all delicious, especially the port-type wine. The owner was very hospitable and easy to chat with.
